KryptoKoder provides a free online browser based PDF signature service that does not require a license to use. The service
is still limited in the sense that it only allows up to two signers, each signer can only have one visible
signature, and the visible signature consists of the signer's name. These limitations will be lifted in the
near future.
To use the service the signer needs to install the MyPDFSigner-Tray application as explained in the
Online Demo and use the default configuration. This application runs a
local service that interfaces with the user's KeyStore (like a smart card, a USB token, the Windows Certificate
Store or Apple Keychain).
The use case workflow is the following:
- user Bob visits the setup page and uploads a PDF (or uses the sample one to test)
- user Bob enters his name and e-mail, and possibly the name and e-mail of Alice if Alice is supposed to sign the PDF
- user Bob checks the Signer checkbox next to each possible signer and this adds a visible signature box to the upper left corner of the current page
- user Bob can drag the visble signature box to the desired position
- user Bob clicks the Send For Signature button
- if this is the first time user Bob uses the service he will receive an e-mail requesting him to verify his e-mail
- if user's Bob e-mail has been verified or after he verifies it a request for signature e-mail is sent to each signer
- each signer (Bob or Alice or both) receives a signature request e-mail: after the provided link is clicked they are sent to the sign page
- in the sign page the signer clicks on the visible signature (which then turns from red to black) which enables the Sign PDF button
- the signer clicks on the Sign PDF button which then signs the PDF as described in the Online Demo
- after the signature is complete the signer can download the signed PDF
To use the service please visit the setup page.
